PlateScout stores your food log, goals, plan and name on your device. We do not run a user database of your meals.
When you scout a meal, the text you type or the photo you take or pick is sent to an AI service (Google Gemini, through Newly AI) to estimate calories and macros. It is used only to produce that estimate. Photos are not saved to our servers by the app.
Messages you send to the Coach, with your goals and stats, are sent to the same AI service to write a reply.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google and RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase status to unlock Pro. We never see your payment details.
Access is requested only when you choose to photograph or pick a meal.
We may collect basic, anonymous usage events to improve the app.
"Reset all data" in Settings clears everything stored on your device. Deleting the app removes it too. Cancel a subscription any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
PlateScout is not directed to children under 13.
